Agata Franczak

Agata Franczak: Yukon trapper, fisher and musher passed away on December 19 after a hard fight with cancer.

Born: August 15, 1955
Died: December 19, 2006

Canadian Ranger, Yukon Quest Finisher (2004), friend to many and one tough woman.

When Agata ran the Quest she created a Dawson City Girls Calendar as a fundraiser. It was a huge hit and really well done. She was a wonderful woman and we sure will miss her! Another Northern character.

Memorial Service for Maria (Agata) Agnieska Franczak-Prauzinska

Agata Franczak passed away on December 19th at 5:15 pm in the company of her best friend and partner Cor Guimond and many other close members of her Yukon family.

Memories of this incredible woman will be cherished in our hearts forever.

Funeral service for Agata will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Dawson City, Yukon at 12:00 noon on December 27th, 2006. Those unable to attend are encouraged to share letters and stories; these will be read at the service.

Please forward any stories, letters or wishes for Cor and Agata's friends to MESSAGES.

A gathering will follow at the Y.O.O.P. Hall in Dawson City, beginning at 4:00 pm.
