Kearney, Ontario Race Format Change

9/26/201r4 / Kearney Sled Dog Race Committee

The Town of Kearney Sled Dog Races has changed its Mid-Distance Race format for the 2015 season to a Mid-Distance Race with a pool format.

Mushers will be permitted to utilize a 12 dog pool with a maximum 10 dog team size for each of the two days of racing. The race distance will be 50 miles each day with the best accumulative time being the winner. Race Organizers currently have a $5000 purse and an entry fee of $80.00 prior to February 1st, 2015.

The Kearney Race has been established for 21 years and welcomes the new format and looks forward to seeing returning distance and mid-distance mushers from previous races coming to experience the new format of mid-distance racing at our event.

For anyone that has never raced at Kearney, the race courses all present a down town start, challenging hills to climb and beautiful hardwood bush, lakes and marshes to enjoy while racing through this country.
