Iditared Racers!
The IditaRed was a red dress race. Guys (and one gal) dressed up in a red dress and accessories, and had to walk the red carpet through the parking lot. Then, they each raced their 4-dog team 2 miles (still in the dress). Three judges gave out points based on costume and other factors, which accounted for 50% of the overall score, while the race times counted for the remaining 50%. Bribing the judges was not only legal, but encouraged.
The club made several hundred dollars from this event (between entry fees, 'buying down' times and bribery), the participants all seemed to have a good time, and the crowd absolutely loved it!
