Lina Streeper didn’t win the final stage of the 2018 Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Tour. She didn’t need to.
Streeper defended her 2017 title with a 22-minute and 34-second win over Montana’s Dave Torgerson to bring the world championship back to British Columbia. The win marks the eighth time in nine years Streeper Kennels has won the event. Lina Streeper’s husband, Buddy, took seven of the wins.
Streeper placed fourth in Saturday’s final stage at Lower Slide Lake in the Gros Ventre Range, just 3:23 back of stage winner Bruce Magnusson.
Streeper’s winnings on the week come out to $27,209.
