Well, folks...

it's time to move to the new forum. As we've done in the past, I'll leave the "Reply" option here for a few days to clean up any unfinished business.

I think the new format is going to work great for all of us. There are many features that should serve us well. It's much faster! Hopefully it will be more organized because we are able to group posts by subjects.

You can edit or delete your own posts...something I could have used a few times on this board! You can also choose the time period to view messages from, you are able to e-mail a poster with a click of the mouse, include the little icon dealies and other formatting in your messages and much more. You can even preview your messages before you post...and there's a "Help" mode in the message box if you need some help with various options in your message.

Anyone can read the messages. In order to post or reply you will have to complete a one-time registration. You DO NOT have to include your real name...I recommend that you use the same nickname you've used on this board so we know who's who. You DO have to include your real e-mail address.

Also at the time you register you have the OPTION of including a brief bio about yourself and/or your town/state/province/country. You can add or delete information in your "profile" at any time.

In the Announcements category there is a "Testing" topic where you can play around and get the "feel" of the forum. Also in the Announcements category is a "Problems" topic. If you need hints/help using the forum (after reading the FAQ--link at the top of the page), post your questions here and someone will help you out. I'm just learning how to use it myself, but I'm sure we'll come up with answers.

I've set the forum up with some basic subjects based on the majority of posts to this board. If you have suggestions for additional ones please e-mail me at mailto:jbergema@sleddogcentral.com with your ideas...sooner would be better than later.

We've developed a wonderful flow of mushing information here and I HOPE the new forum won't disrupt the dynamics of our community. Your comments are always welcome and I take your suggestions seriously.
