Last time this subject came up, I wasn't sure if this was the place to put this out or not, but here is an exhaustive collection of literature references on epilepsy in dogs. You can delve as deeply as you wish and this appears to be whats known about the problem. In particular, one of the 2000 references is a discussion of side effects (pancreatitis) of your particular treatment.
