I don't drink so you wouldn't have to worry about me sharing it with ya. I 'm one of those born again types that you find as tiresome as people who argue about which dog breed is better. But If We do meet I hope you won't find me tiresome( I try not to be any way) But I am indebted to you for your knowledge. I hope I do meet you some day It would be an honor. I actually have a book by that Nick Vanier guy. I was reading the archives on this Quest website, (Your name came up a few times) And there was an article about Vanier and his siberian Husky/Greenland dogs. Than another article about how he got kicked out of the race for yelling at people and stealing dog food or something. So after I posted this question asking your opinion of them, I did a search on his name and came across this Website of him and his dogs,(in french) I saw all these pictures that looked familiar and dug out this book I have of him. The book is about all his adventures. I haven't read the book in a while because It causes me to think my job selling insurance sucks and makes me want to just pack my stuff and drive out and live in the Bush. My wife is pretty supportive, but we have a plan to go up there that is probably better but will get us there inabout3 to 4 years. It involves me finishing my degree in Science Education and getting a job up there as a teacher. That way I will have the stability do alot of these cool things I want to do like dog driving that seem to take more money than What I can get up there If I go up and just work at walmart or somthing, just so I can be there. Not that I plan to be rich as a public school teacher or anything. The book is beautiful. I am really envious of the Guy. The dogs are beautifull too. I think his tri colored leader is good with kids at least, they show them together a lot, The book doesn't mention fighting but there is one photo where he shoots a moose and just lets the dogs loose on the carcase to tear it apart like a pack of wolves. It shows them around the kill ripping the hide off and faces all bloody just like wolves except with harnesses on. I went to babblefish which is a website where you can translate any language and translated the site. The translation is not perfect but It does say somthing about the dogs killing ther father. He has a bio on each of his dogs, you know how alot of mushing sites do, and he mentions that these two brothers are good workers but there bad point is they were responsible for the "disappearance" of their Pater. The website says the dogs are half Siberian Liaka and Half greenland. Maybe it was a mistranslation. The book says how much the Guy loves Jack London, looks like his dogs are right out of the book. I think you are right though, I think I would like siberians better or more traditional Alaskans like Zirkle has. Thanks again Ted
