generally speaking, bloody diarrhea (assuming ulcerations are not a problem) results from too many cereal grains in the diet. Meat obviously helps, as you found out, but isn't a panacea. Psyllium works wonders -- it holds loose together and softens the hard stuff (metamucil is basically psyllium and sugars if I recall). I'm not sure of the exact amount, so we started about 3 weeks ago using about 1/8 cup for 18 huskies. Ran 40 miles last weekend with nary a bloody (or very runny) output. I'm a fan of it. As they say, your mileage may vary.
