Hi IN, I wasn't aware that Metronidazole was antibiotic. I know its anti-protozoan, as I've taken it a number of times for Giardia. It also goes by the name of Flagyl, so named becaulse it is a potent inhibitor of the flagellar motor apparatus of protozoa- the propeller that allows the bug to move around.
