Thanks guys. My dogs have a very strong predator instinct anyway. They'll kill and eat anything, but not in harness. Encountering wildlife out and about is very common, and if they are eyeing a mobile meal too heavy I use the (DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!) command. It even works with cats. What I was mainly concerned about was bacteria, ticks, and the like. I've decided to tan it anyway. Thanks again. Sandi
