I agree with Judy regarding insisting one's dogs not fight. I also feel that a large segment of the populations, some mushers included, see movies like Iron Will, and every other mushing-related movie and view the inevitable dogfight. I have a young bitch who just completed her first 3 miles at lead with another experienced girl beside her. the two yapped at each other all during hookup, and there was a nip or two in the first 100 feet of the run. I set the brake, ran up, and meted out the reward for biting. This young dog is the best I've had for years, and she is stepping right up to lead. BUT...if I can't turn the corner on this behavior soon, she'll be history. It isn't fair to the rest. Oddly, she passes other people's dogs fine, it is MY bitches she wants. P.S.
