Company names are omitted so the post won't be confused with an advertisement and deleted. I'm trying to decide between a double walled polypro, floored tent, that starts out at 24 lbs (4 person I'm guessing), and a single walled, no floor, tipi that weighs basically one lb. per person. Both tents accept large stoves. The latter type is what I'm used to from my ski-mountaineering days. Has anyone had experience with both types, and is there any real reason to go for a double walled tent thats over twice the weight? I think -17F is about as cold as it ever gets where I'm at.

Thanks, David Lowry
