I have been doing as wolf den describes and my older suzuki 2wd has a hand clutch - so I have the ability to shift to neutral by pulling the clutch and shifting with my foot. I like it. The newer yamaha 2x2 with shaft drive and foot shifter does not allow for this, but now I can have a friend take half my team of 14 and we can do passing etc... The suzuki is an 84 4stroke quadsport and in the 5 years I have had it I have done no maintenance except front wheel bearings and oil change. Another benefit in my mind is the kick starter - no battery hassels although no headlamp if it is not running - I hope to mount a 12 volt deep cycle and big lamp on the front of it - do any of you have extra lights like this? Most of the time my headlamp is enough light but I would like to have more as the other night we almost ran over a porcupine... I also recognize that the lights on the yamaha are too low and don't offer enough distance. maybe a lamp set up on each
