Re purchasing an ATV spec. manual start on ATV's. Its -20 C here today and my electric start on my Honda isn't working too well so kick start comes in handy in this case. We used to have some Suzuki ATV's, they were not great machines. Not only are they are really hard to fix (hard to get at the parts to replace stuff like the starter etc), but the manual start was located under the seat and is a pull cord (this is a real pain in the but - you have to take the seat off to start the engine, then put the seat back on, and if the engine dies before you get going you have to take the seat off again to use the pull start. It helps if you have some weight to throw around to get the pull start ot work, relatively short/light person like me has to stand on the frame to work this kinda pull start. BIG pain in the butt. I don't know if Suzuki still makes em like this but if I was gonna buy a new ATV, regardless of make, I would NEVER in a million years get one with a pull start as the manual start, esp one located under the seat. Just something else to look for and avoid when purchasing a new ATV for running dogs with.
