Jen Did you use the rescue remedy to help calm the dog down? Chamomile tea or a basil tea will work also. I have a dog that has panic attacks (yes, he is an excellent sled dog too)when he is getting ready for agility and weightpull competition. Overly excited. I make a cup of chamomile or basil tea for myself and then put about 3-5cc (mls) into a bowl of water for him to drink. It calms him down and then I drink the rest! One of those calming agents out there, not sure which one, has St. John's wort in it and I do not trust that herb. Just my preference though. Mike--another thing you can add to the foot ointment is red clover flowers. Red clover is another natural anitbacterial agent--I make a tea with red clover flowers and use the broth or you can dry the flowers and grind them up. Red clover is found in most waste or hay fields, just pick the flowers and dry them out of the direct light.
