On man I say go for it. I trained for 4 years on a cart and just bought an ATV this summer. It is so great. I understand about the crashing. I have so much more control now and the dogs know it. I just have a 2x4, like someone else said, its less expensive, and pretty light. But my team doesnt pull it. I dont think that unless you are going to be where you may get stuck in snow or mud a 2x4 works fine. I say get one, youll love it. I should have done it years ago.
