The ones Ive used are not tiny and not huge Im not sure how to describe the size. Medium I guess. When I first tried this, I did have an accidental breakage problem and I switched to heavier ties and made sure they were installede the right way. Since then I havent had a problem. They do need replacing periodically but the safety that results is worth it. Its easy to replace the ties if they break on the trail and also easy to replace worn snaps. The zip ties are great to carry for lots of uses anyway.
