I hope that the pointer you bred to is also a good sled dog. We have two pointers and I wouldn't breed one as she did not show any desire to pull. She is doing pretty good now, but it took most of one winter to teach her.

The other pointer we have is a natural born puller and also a natural leader. We bred him two times last year and the pups are as different as could be. Ours were bred to one of our best females. We have been running them 2 months now. They will be 9 months old this week. I can't fault them in any way.

Good attitudes. All have run up front at one point and 3 are really nice in lead. Excellent coats that they got from their mother. Really nice & friendly personallities. I can't say about speed yet as they are just pups and we are keeping the speed down.

However, I'm not sure these are the best pups we've had although they come close. I think the best pups are the litter that the mother came from. And they are Alaskan Husky Through & through. These are good enough however that I plan to breed them again. I call them Amerihounds as the father is AKC registered GSP.

I just saw the other litter for the first time this weekend. They are 5 months old & somewhat on the blocky side. They must favor the mother. They have not been harness broken yet so I wouldn't judge them at this point.

I also ran some yearlings this weekend out of some of the Eurohounds and any dog in our lot was better than them, so it's still a gamble. It's pretty hard to get rid of a dog when the stud fee was over a thousand dollars.

A major concern of corse is coat, so breed to a dog that throws pups with nice coats. Anyway I'm happy with what I've done, but I still have a lot of Alaskan Huskies in my yard that are very nice dogs. Well I've gotten a bit wordy, but let us know how yours turn out.
