Just wanted to get opinions about the latest craze on pointer crosses versus the good ole' alaskan. We just recently did 2 breedings with our German shorthaired pointer and our 2 main leaders. We have had alaskans up to this point, but felt that the pointer would add more speed and endurance while maintaining the husky coat and feet, etc. These pups look very, VERY promising for our 2002 team. We run mid-distance, but my hubby may try sprints with these new pups. We did much research on the pointer before doing the breeding. Also compared againest Egil Ellis's pointer lines, so we didn't just jump in and start breeding...we made sure we were informed. (Plus, we waited 2 years to see if the results of comparable breedings would pan out...and they have)
So...What do you all think?? Just thought I'd add a new topic for discussion...plus I'm really interested on other takes on this issue. :o)
