Re fan hitch and having to line out your leader, maybe you got your leader on too long a line, I've found some leaders don't want to be that far ahead of the point or in your case the wheel dogs, and they tend to come back to hang out closer to the rest of the team if the lines too long. On a fan hitch you can have your leader on a line as little as a foot longer than the next dogs(s) (if your running on a tight trail this you miught not have enough room for this though). Cheers
