Two wheel dogs and a single wheel is quite common. I always run a single leader in a three dog team if at all possible because that single wheel seems to make things a bit lopsided. Many leaders however need the security of another dog up with them. Since this is a new situation for you, I would start with double leader and then when the dogs get comfortable that way start trying them in single lead. Good Luck.
