Debbie,

Your naive, prejudice, selfishly romantic view of life is making me absolutely crazy here. Let me explain something to you. If you don't mind.

Let me quote you, "...a people that can live off of the land and survive in places few white men would consider living." First of all, Anybody that has the desire to live there could do it. People choose where they want to live. It has NOTHING to do with race.

You said, "Like the Indians of the lower 48, your way of life is being challenged and man is trying to make you conform to a way of life they want you to live" The "Indians" way of life was challenged over a hundred years ago, they have already conformed. I am married to a full blooded Ojibway. She's one of four in her tribe that can claim that status.

You have made it clear how badly you need dogs to run the Iditarod. This being your first year of driving and all. You are very greatful for all the help you are getting in that endeavor. You have stated that you have purchased few if any dogs. Now you make a plea to get more free dogs by rationalizing. (if they kill them, give em to me)

You said that emotion brings about response. I find that emotion only brings about non-thinking action. Emotion is the most unreliable response one can have.

Now that I've succomed to emotion, I think I'll go try and find a bunch of free dogs and go run the Ididtarod. Cause it's got to be easy. If I don't make it all the way, there's bound to be somebody there to help me out and get me back to the white mans world. Paul Smith
