I have a freight sled that I used to do some trapping and camping with. It has runners that are 2.5 inches wide. It was made to be able to haul a large amount of weight, and to be used in soem unpacked snow conditions. It does work ok, but the toboggan is a much better. Narrow runners for the packed snow conditions, and the full belly for "flotation" in unpacked snow.
