Thank you for the information. I read every bit of it. I e-mailed 31 dog food manufacturers to donate food. I have been in a turmoil over this. I e-mailed Eagle and offered to fly a dog to my home. I am not affiliated with any group, other than I help women with endometriosis. I just feel that humans domesticated dogs long ago and we have a responsibility to them as a result. And no matter what the issues are, political or otherwise, it comes down to the dogs' survival. I have a border collie who I adopted who nearly starved to death two years ago from neglect and every time I look at her, I think of these dogs. If I could have one wish, it would be to help all the animals of the world.

Thank you God for creating dogs. They are the greatest. They teach us humanity and love.

Thank you again. Now I can sleep somewhat better knowing more. I've sport fished in Alaska for over 20 years and am so tired of the fish fights. I am a writer, so if I can help that way, I will. I was thinking that someone could write a children's book about saving the sled dogs and the lack of fish. It's so hard to see the dogs suffering because of human politics. If we could just get to the "root cause" of the problem and work on that.

I am worried too about the people along the Yukon, because I know they do live on the salmon too.

I've come to the conclusion over the years that the best approach on the fishing is "if one group can't fish, then close them all down." No sportsfishing, no commercial fishing, just let the natives fish for subsistence. I am an artist who makes fish prints of salmon and sold them on the Kenai River. I can't hardly bring myself to do that anymore. I am sick of the salmon issue - the politics. I'm ready to hang up my fishing pole - and I live to fish - if that's what it takes. But that's not the issue for those along the Yukon.

The issue is - the dogs need to be fed to survive. They are in our care.
