I have dealt with a few dogs that crab. I have found that 90% of the crabbing is due to a minor back or neck injury. Most of these dogs are cured of crabbing with one or two trips to the chiropractor. You may think the dog hasn't run enough to get an injury but most injuries to the neck are occur on the chain. That's why I have installed shock absorbers on my excited dogs' chains. It has helped alot. I also do not carry my dogs over to the gangline like "suitcases." (With their front feet off the ground) which I have seen many dog mushers do. I let my dogs run free to the line. It is possible to train your dogs to do this, I have a very young and hyper team. If I were you I would do a full range of motion check on your crabber. I have found that most of my crabber's injuries were in the neck. I also massaged my crabbers necks before and after every run. Good luck to you!
