We use wrist wraps on every dog at every checkpoint during a distance race. We rub the joint with Algyval then put the wrap on. Not sure if it's the Algyval or the massage that helps,,,but it does. We leave the wraps on for the duration of the stay. This past year I also gave all my race dogs Glucosamine Sulfate starting a month prior to the racing season. I had zero problems with wrists or shoulders on some very tough trails. As someone stated,,,you've got to make sure the wraps are on correctly. Not too tight, and placed correctly on the leg. We just use them on the front legs. I've never seen anyone use them on back legs.
