My soul purpose for making this trip in a non-race situation is to see the Gorge and the happy steps. I want to learn to navigate them before i have too. I am not going alone and therefore am accounting for anything that might go wrong. Just like I would if I were racing this year. If I can't handle this trail in a non-race situation, then how would I handle it in a race?? I am trying to get the dogs trained and myself trained as well. I am gonna be a rookie on that first race but I don't want to be the red lantern winner or one of the ones that drops out of the race. I want to do good. I am so excitted about this trip. We are going to be doing a lot of trips from Knik lake. I am doing a lot of camping trips this year to learn all I can about taking care of these dogs out there on my own. I am not going into this without great thought and support. I am making my final plans after I see January get here. thanks. deb
