5 or 6 good dogs would be min. for a youngster. I expect 10 would be a practical max. for anyone. Only anticipate 20/25 miles a day unless the group looks to be capable of a little more. I'm not a teacher or a guru..I see this as a sort of mutual learning pool..as much about self-reliance and self-confidence as anything. And a camping trip is a far better place to learn fundamentals than during a race. I feel the 'absorption" rate is higher in a no stress fun environment.
