Dan Kaduce repeated as Taiga 300 Champion at 8:13 am. Friday. Eric Rodgers captured second with the fastest run time over the last 108 mile leg. Warm temperatures greeted the 18 Taiga entrants; daytime temperatures were in the high 30's, creating overflow and collapsing ice bridges. None of the racers experienced concerns with the water crossings, however, a snowmobile, driven by trail veterinarian Rene Rember, landed in the Maclaren River upside down, some 80 miles from the final checkpoint at Wolverene Lodge.
Blake Matray drove his team of registered Siberians across the finish at 3:35 am on Saturday, April 5th to complete the last 300 mile race of 2008. The Taiga purse of $4000, paid through five places, also included a poker run, won by Gus Gunther.
The Veterinarians Choice was given to Eric Rodgers and the Taiga's Best Sportsman was Thomas Robertson.
