Conditions:
After 2 seasons of very poor snow conditions, this kickoff
event was very well attended and well received. Nineteen mushers participated in the 3 dog
2 mile Cheechako event. Seven of the nineteen own their own dogs and will be expected to
show up for other events as the season progresses. Following this event, a group of 12
"more seasoned" skijour mushers followed the same course. Their times are
given following the Cheechako times.
