One of my 5 month old EllisXSerre pups still has her two upper canine baby teeth. Her adult teeth are coming in right in front of them and are justabout as long. The baby teeth are not loose or even yellowing. There is no interference between the adult canines at this point but the adult tooth is right next to the puppy tooth and I'm concerned that it will force it to grow forward and eventually interfere w/ her lower adult canines.
This is my first experience w/ this kind of issue. Any suggestions on how to decide when/if to pull the baby teeth?
We had a pup sprouting 8 canines once, and we had them pulled... when I picked her up from the vet's she was tearing around the waiting room with the tech's kids having a GREAT time, so no regrets. :)
Her sister had a similar problem and they waited until she was spayed to pull the one remaining baby canine.
Hi, It's common to have any remaining "baby-teeth" pulled when the dog goes to be spayed or neutered while they are anesthetized. Those teeth do need to come out though, so you might consider this even if you don't plan to spay/neuter. Possibly invest in some good chew toys, or play a few games of tug of war. Good Luck!!
