I've used my ipod for 3 years and love it! Pretty much year round I wear it. I too put it around my arm, under a sweatshirt with a cover over it and a strap for wrapping it. I use the same thing at the gym. it was like 10.00 bucks and is also water proof, I put a small hand warmer pack if its super cold, and that fit inside the compartment that holds the i-pod so its not touching me. Also skull candy has great ear buds with the volume control on cord so it sit just below your neck. Its great! And then no need to touch the i-pod!It makes the gym and training so awesome! Have yet to wear it for a race........sure I'll b there this year!

Becky

Sounds like you sport the same arm band and ear buds that I'm presently using. Have you considered however, if you will wear it at night along with your headlamp?

Hey Rhonda
I do wear it with the head lamp. Now that i work day shift like normal people training is either sunrise or sunset, no issue or concern on this end. Head lamp is top and the i-pod is in the ears they dont share the same ground.

I've decided to go with a headset instead of ear buds. The iPod and or battery booster will be worn in an under utilized Windwalker battery holster that we've had sitting around.

Unfortunately, this design does not eliminate the cord concern which is what originally prompted my post to SDC. But.. I've already worn the 'iPod' holster while training and LOVE it!

Karen R mentioned listening to Mushing podcasts on her iPod. I'm going to download a few!

After a few more runs, I'm back to using ear buds. I'd rather deal with those becoming frozen, than adding to the slow, tortuous headache that headlamp straps & hoods tend to cause.
