Posted - 12/26/2011 : 08:05:30 AM Due to the current weather and forecast of the Midwest we are moving Winterfest to March 3rd & 4th..We hope to see all of you in March. Even though a lot could change in 3 weeks we felt that rescheduling was the best option for a number of reasons. Kalkaska has always tried to have the best trail available that would not happen right now. Hopefully there will be more snow to work with and prepare the trail in March. {We potentially didnt want to throw in a trail the week before just to have a race}. March was the first weekend that did not conflict with other Midwest races. Kalkaska has always been a very competitve race, with large ISDRA points. it sounds like alot of mushers are struggling to get training miles in. It would be nice to have all the teams fully prepared for the race.
Hope to see all in March Thanks. Kalkaska Winterfest |

Posted - 02/21/2012 : 9:18:50 PM If you have raced there before, Jake, there is very little variance on the trail lengths ans scope from one year to another. I am pretty sure the Start and finish will be like it has in recant years. |

Posted - 02/19/2012 : 6:06:30 PM Trail update! Trail is in good shape, several teams trained on it today. Depending on how Mother Nature cooperates with us in the next two weeks we should be good to go. |
