It is frequent to find factoids about dog mushing being adopted as the offical Alaska state sport in 1972, but does anyone know more about this, such as who proposed it, which legislators approved it, and what the actual declarion read?

Try contacting an Alaska State Legislator and ask them to request the legislative history from the Legislative Library. That should give all the info you are looking for.
