Ok everyone I need some serious help. I am doing my Senior Project for high school and I decided to build a three wheeled rig. That's the easier part. Now the hard part is I have to write a persuasive essay 5-7 pages long on a topic I choose (my thesis). I've come up with one idea and it was that any dog breed (reasonably any breed) can be used for urban mushing and why more people should get into this with their family pet.
That's just one idea I had and I need some help thinking of more topics.
~REQUIREMENTS~
-It does have to be a persuasive essay, so no research styled papers
-And I can easily talk about dog sledding/urban mushing for a long time but my paper has to be 5-7 pages

Sounds like you've got it covered to me.
If you want a more contentious issue to deal with, how about the acceptance of dogs into the Islam community? I always assumed my Muslim neighbours didn't like animals until I got ponies. Then it became clear that it's really just dogs.

I'd say go with the idea that any dog breed can get urban mushing. There are many topics you can cover, (ie-canicross, bikejoring, scootering, and then on rigs). As long as the dog wants to run, you can get into mushing. I've seen a little terrier get crazy when the harness comes out and the owners canicross with him.
