I have used Ivomectin equine wormer for about 12 years. Most Alaskan lines have some sight hound ancestry. I have had no peoblems whatsoever. I have injected it several times but did not like the reaction. Some dogs rolled and scratched for several minutes after. Most times I squirt it from a syringe into the back of the throat, andclose their mouth as though I had administered a capsule. If you have a dog that is a really good eater, and cleans everything up you can squirt it into the dish. A vet panel at a sled dog symposiuym in October/1998 mentioned that recent studies showed that administering 1/2ml to a dog each day for several weeks would take care of certain types of mange. I used this last summer on a dog who had problems with a skin mite for several months. She was 100% after the treatment and was back leading the team this fall.

As has been stated, you take your chances if using on Collies, but I know many top Alaskan Kennels with some sight hound ancestry that use Ivomectin, and have had no problems whatsoever. You may check with "Mushing Magazine" They did an article on Ivomectin a couple of years back. They may be able to send you out a copy.
