I appreciate the feedback on the use of Ivermectin, especially that it can used on the 1/2 Borzoi, and that it can be routinely injected w/out abcesses. BUT; I must be careful what I personally recommend on a messageboard, as I witnessed a Shetland Sheepdog cease breathing and succumb when injected w/ Ivermectin [by a licenced veterinarian]. Also, I have seen a number of shorthaired dogs w/ hand-sized scars over the shoulders. They were each caused by abcesses after being injected w/ ivermectin. 2 of the owners said they had injected ivermectin for quite a while w/ no problem. If you know the risks, and and injecting it is working for you, I am not one to criticize. But when I post instructions that may be used by any number of dog persons, I must assume a percentage will not be as fortunate, and I must warn of the worst case scenario. I try to pass on the most accurate info I can.
