I also use the injectable (cattle) ivomec on my huskies. I do inject it and have never had an abcess. I discussed it with my vet and the only thing she warned me against on the injectable is that it stings a little when injected. I only have one dog that seems to mind and he just dislikes shots in general. I also have Collies and I do not use it on them. Collies can recieve Ivomectrin and do fine, but they are much easier to overdose than other breeds which is why it is not recommended for use on collie breeds.
