In would think that there is some nutritional value in tripe as some of the people groups that tend to stay with the basic necessities of life include it as part of their diet. I have never used it as a sole diet for my dog team but of course it was included as part of the diet. I read an article about 30 years ago, and I can't quite remember where it was published, about one or several of the nutrients in tripe magnifying shyness in dogs that had that tendency. I have never been able to confirm this and maybe it was just one of those "old wives tales" that have messed up the minds of dog breeder's for years. Try a search on the net. Maybe you will come up with something.
